Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

My name is Lisley, and I am writing to express my interest in becoming your au pair. I would like to share a little about myself and why I believe I am the ideal candidate to join your family as an au pair.

Who I am?

Firstly, let me introduce myself. I am Brazilian and I am 24 years old. Currently, I live in Recife, the vibrant capital of the state of Pernambuco, where I recently graduated in Dentistry. I am a cheerful, open-minded, friendly, creative person with an adventurous spirit and a genuine desire to explore new cultures and experiences. I grew up in a loving family environment, where I learned from an early age the importance of empathy, patience, and responsibility.
My experience with children began early, at the age of 14, when I started helping to care for my cousins. In my teens, I took on the role of babysitter to care for the child of a friend of my mother who attended university at night. Additionally, on Sunday mornings, I volunteered at the church daycare I attended. My role included supervising the children, feeding them, changing diapers, and leading interactive activities such as games, dances, and paintings.
During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to have significant contact with children, including those with special needs and babies. This experience was not limited to everyday clinical care; I also actively participated in community volunteer actions and projects related to childhood. All this interaction and experience with children deeply enchant me and contribute to my passion for them.

Why do I want to become an Au Pair?

I decided to become an au pair because I believe this opportunity will allow me to combine some of my passions: caring for children and traveling. As an au pair, I will have the chance to immerse myself in a new culture, learn a new language, and at the same time, share my own culture and values. I am looking forward to creating meaningful bonds with your family and to positively contribute to the growth and development of your children.

Why do I believe your family should host me as an au pair?

Firstly, I am committed to providing a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for your children. My previous experience as a babysitter and volunteer in children's programs has taught me the importance of nurturing not only physical but also emotional and intellectual development of children.
Additionally, I am a responsible, organized, and flexible person, capable of dealing with challenges that may arise during childcare. I am willing to help with light household chores and support your family in every possible way. My effective communication skills and ability to solve problems enable me to handle situations calmly and efficiently.

Why am I qualified for the position?

In summary, I believe my skills, experiences, and personality qualify me as an excellent candidate for the au pair position in your home. I am excited about the possibility of becoming part of your family and sharing precious moments with your children.
I am available to answer any additional questions you may have and would love to discuss how my skills and experiences align with your family's needs. Thank you in advance for considering my application, and I hope to have the opportunity to become part of your family as an au pair.

Sincerely,

Lisley.

Experience

My experience in childcare started in adolescence and continued over the years. Since I was 14, I've had the opportunity to take care of my cousins, work as a babysitter on weekends, and volunteer at a daycare on Sunday mornings. During my dentistry graduation, I had direct contact with children in clinical settings and also actively participated in community volunteer actions related to childhood. This journey has provided me with valuable skills in caring for and interacting with children of different ages and needs.
