Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,
It is with great anticipation that I present to you my application as an Au pair.

I am Nokukhanya known as Oceans from South Africa but currently live in Germany . I am a friendly person, as they say that I am fun to be with. I have good interpersonal skills and hardworking. I usually express my feelings through writing poems, essays and short stories. I am expecting that this job will enhance my skills in taking good care of children and I know with this job I can be more familiar with the type of families Germany has. I can be more particular with the culture since I will be working in a home. I enjoy reading , studying or watching movies during my leisure time or sometimes take walks There are times that I just want to sit and share ideas with people or more likely initiate a friendly conversation. I was a teacher assistant (2years) and tutor (4years) in South Africa. It was a challenging job since you will be taking care of children—feeding them, administer medications and ensure that they go home understanding what they learnt . It entails a lot of patience since most children are scared of making new friends , entering new classes whereby it feels like a whole world. My job is to also just assure them that they are safe and they will be learning new things everyday . I also talk with them to build rapport to them.I also went to college and studied Human Resources Management which was fun but challenging. I can really say that I will be very effective in doing my job.

Experience

I arrived in Germany on the 28th of February and had to work as an au pair in Frankfurt from the first of February but got delayed by the embassy with the visa so the family did not really be understanding on that part whereby we can not control the embassy system that’s why things have to be done early. But I was taking good care of 2 children, a 1 year old boy and 5 years old girl, it was so easy getting along with the kids , they showed so much affection , we got along very well problem was I felt like the parents were still angry about the fact that the embassy delayed so they were a little too harsh all the time and I couldn’t be on a toxic environment so I confronted them about it and they were bizzare ( sorry about that) , calling me wicked and making insensitive comments but I am a very calm person so I saw that it would be best if I kept quiet and waited for the next day after I’m calm and requested for a contract termination because I was just feeling extremely uncomfortable and unsafe so now I have 1 week and a few days to find a new family that will be very kind , accepting and one that I can build a very good connection with, now I am currently in Munich helping my sister and brother in law out with their niece as they are helping me find a family . Taking care of their niece is beyond pleasant because it is similar to myself preparing for the next family as she is still a one year old I am learning a lot . In South Africa I used to baby sit kids as well as take care of my siblings, one that is disabled then 3 of my baby siblings that are aged 12,13 and 15 years old so I have a lot of experience looking after children , I hope to hear from you soon so that we can discuss the way forward.
