Dear Host Family,

My name is Thaïs, I am 29 years old, and I am originally from Brazil. I have been living in France for the past two years, working as an Au Pair for two wonderful families. I have a background in psychology, with a special focus on child development, and I have also worked as a volunteer teacher in NGOs and orphanages. My experience with children goes beyond my professional background, as I have always been involved in caring for my younger relatives as well.

I want to continue working as an Au Pair & Nanny because I genuinely enjoy taking care of children and supporting them in their growth. I believe that childhood is a crucial stage in life, and I take great pride in being a positive presence in children’s daily routines. Additionally, I love cultural exchanges and language learning, which makes this experience even more meaningful for me.

Experience

I have been working as an Au Pair in France for the past two years, taking care of children aged 6 to 9. In my first year, I cared for two girls (7 and 9 years old), and in my second year, I looked after two girls (6 and 8 years old). My responsibilities included preparing meals, helping with homework, organizing fun activities, and ensuring their well-being and safety.

Before becoming an Au Pair, I studied psychology in Brazil and worked as an intern in child psychology, which gave me valuable insights into child development and behavior. Additionally, I have experience teaching English and tutoring children in orphanages and NGOs. I also used to teach catechism in my local church, which helped me develop patience and creativity when working with children.

Becoming an Au Pair & Nanny abroad has been a rewarding experience because it allows me to combine my love for children with my passion for cultural exchange. I enjoy being a part of a child’s life, helping them grow, and at the same time, immersing myself in a new culture and language.
