Experience
Originally translated from Español
For several years now, I've been involved in activities related to childcare and support. I have participated in various volunteer programs, where I collaborated in educational and recreational spaces for children, helping with homework, games, and group dynamics. These experiences allowed me to develop skills such as patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different ages and personalities.
Currently, for the past five months, I have been caring for a 3-year-old girl. This experience has given me a deeper insight into the daily care of a young child, including their routine, their emotional needs, and the emotional role that is built in that bond. I take care of their nutrition, hygiene, recreational activities, and play stimulation. It's a task I perform with great care and responsibility, and it reaffirms my calling to work with children.
Each experience has taught me something valuable and allowed me to grow as a person. I truly enjoy spending time with children, supporting them in their journeys, providing a safe and happy environment, and learning with them every day. I consider myself a very calm, responsible, and empathetic person. I enjoy listening, learning from others, and creating trusting environments. I am very dedicated to what I do, especially when it comes to caring for and supporting children. I adapt easily to new situations and always try to maintain a positive attitude.
My interests are closely linked to the emotional well-being and development of children, which is closely related to my academic background: I am studying Psychology at the University of the Republic (UDELAR). I also love reading, walking outdoors, listening to music, cooking simple recipes, and spending time with friends and family. I also really enjoy learning new languages and experiencing other cultures, which is one of the main reasons I want to be an au pair.
Once I finish my experience as an au pair and nanny, my plan is to return to Uruguay to finish my university studies and continue my education. I would like to pursue a doctorate in child psychology, as I am deeply interested in working on children's emotional and cognitive development and contributing through my profession to supporting them in their early years.
I am convinced that this experience as an au pair will be essential for my personal and professional growth, and I would love to be able to live it with a family that values sharing, respect, and mutual affection.
