Letter to the family

Hello, my name is Katharina. I am 18 years old and I just graduated from high school.

Before I start studying in April 2026 I would like to spend some time abroad to improve my English skills and gain new experiences.

I live in a German city near Duesseldorf. My mother works as a public servant and my father is a senior executive in a large German corporate. I have two younger siblings: my brother is 14 years old and my little sister just turned 10.

Experience

I have often taken care of my siblings and worked as a babysitter for another family.

I also did internships in a kindergarten, a primary school and a newborn nursery. I enjoy a lot spending time with children of all ages and gain experiences in taking care of them. For the past three summers, I have worked as a supervisor in a dance summer camp, which was a lot of fun.

To prepare for being an AuPair I took a child course where I learned how to properly hold newborns, how to react in difficult situations and what kinds of activities are suitable for children at different ages.
