Letter to the family

Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Brooke, and I am originally from Nebraska but currently living in Arizona, where I moved to pursue my education and broaden my horizons. I am writing to express my heartfelt interest in becoming your Au Pair and becoming a supportive, caring part of your family.

I have always had a passion for working with children and helping others, which has guided both my professional and personal paths. I hold a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and have gained hands-on experience through various childcare roles over the years. From being a swim instructor and nanny to working as a babysitter, nursery worker, and camp counselor, I’ve had the opportunity to work with children of all ages and personalities. Each role has helped me develop patience, empathy, creativity, and strong communication skills.

Becoming an Au Pair is more than just an exciting adventure for me — it’s a meaningful way to combine my love for children with my desire to immerse myself in a new culture. I see it as a chance to grow personally, share my own culture, and learn deeply from yours. I’m especially excited about building a genuine connection with your family and supporting your children in their day-to-day routines, learning, and play.

I believe you should host me because I am reliable, nurturing, and genuinely dedicated to creating a safe and fun environment for children. My experience in both healthcare and childcare makes me adaptable, attentive, and quick to respond in any situation. I understand the importance of routine, structure, and trust — all things I strive to provide in any caregiving role.

Thank you for considering me as a part of your family. I would be honored to contribute to your home with warmth, responsibility, and enthusiasm, and I look forward to the possibility of getting to know you better.

Warmest regards,
Brooke

Experience

Although I have not officially worked as an Au Pair before, I have extensive experience in childcare that closely mirrors the responsibilities of the role. Over the years, I’ve worked as a swim instructor, nanny, babysitter, nursery worker, and camp counselor — all of which have given me the skills to care for children in a safe, engaging, and nurturing way. I’ve worked with kids of all ages, from infants to pre-teens, and have learned how to adapt to different personalities, needs, and family routines.

Each of these roles taught me how to build trust with both children and parents, manage schedules, encourage development through play and learning, and handle challenges with patience and positivity. These experiences have not only strengthened my passion for working with children but also helped me grow into a responsible, caring, and confident caregiver.

I would love to become an Au Pair abroad because I’m eager to experience life from a different cultural perspective. I think the best way to learn about a new culture is by living with and learning from a local family — sharing in their traditions, language, and daily life. At the same time, I hope to share my own background and values in a meaningful way. Becoming an Au Pair offers the perfect combination of personal growth, cultural exchange, and the joy of making a positive impact in a child’s life.
