Letter to the family

Hello! My name is Beck, I am 25 years old, and I live in Milwaukee, WI, USA. I am originally from Denmark but grew up in the US so I am looking to Au Pair in Denmark to get better at the language, as well as learn more about the country as a whole.

I have experience in babysitting, being a camp counselor at a sleep away camp, and teaching kids how to swim. I have always loved working with kids, they are such a joy and always have a new perspective on life that I never considered.

I have dual citizenship with the US and Denmark, I have grown up with a one parent one language type of family. My mom would speak in English to me and my two sisters, and my dad would speak in Danish, as well as my extended Danish family. I have a great understanding of Danish but am looking to improve my verbal Danish, as well as my reading and writing.

Experience

I have never been an Au Pair or a Nanny before, but I have babysat numerous kids before, as well as been a camp counselor at a sleep away camp, having up to 12 girls in my cabin at once. I have also been a lifeguard and swim instructor so I have experience with child safety and first aid. I also help look after my nephew, and will help with my niece, as well, when she is born.

I would love to become an Au Pair to become more fluent in my Danish abilities, as well as learn more about Denmark. I have visited Denmark before, my dad’s side of the family lives around the country.
