Dear Host Family,

I want to become an Au Pair because I love take care of children.
I started babysitting as soon as I could at the age of 18 (French majority). Most of the time it was o occasional babysitting, then I looked after my first family of 3 children at weekends and sometimes in the evenings. I liked to spend my free time looking after them. A bond was quickly formed and we were happy to see each other every time. The weather was fine most of the time so we played outside on the trempoline, we played in the kitchen, we painted, we went for walks in the forest because there was one next to their garden. I suggested activities, but I also adapted to the wishes of the three of them.

I expect this year to be professionally rewarding, because looking after children is a real full-time job. I have to know how to have fun with them, but also how to get them interested in the life around them to arouse their curiosity. On a personal level, I expect this family to accept me as a member of the family. I've already lived far away for a year, but never far away and with another family. I can't wait to start this experience and I'd like to feel comfortable and respected like everyone else. Moreover, I would like a family who is open-minded in many ways, and for me open-minded means accepting differences, intellectual curiosity, flexibility, tolerance, empathy and respect.

With regard to my family, my favorite thing is going to my grandparents' house. That's when we all get together and I know I'm going to have a good time. Their house in the countryside, surrounded by a beautiful garden and the farm, is very pleasant. As my grandfather continues to farm, we eat good food, well cooked by my grandmother. These moments are increasingly appreciated and comforting now that I'm living in big cities. Moreover, seeing my niece makes me feel better. This little girl, who joined the family 4 years ago, is a ball of energy. We regularly do Facetime so we can see each other and chat together, because being the 'favorite auntie' has to be earned. Not forgetting my mother, with whom I have a very good relationship, I keep in touch every day to keep her up to date with my day because I move around a lot every day. I'm in Paris 3 weeks out of 4, and the days go by very quickly. I go to work, I have to go to the supermarket to cook afterwards, I go to yoga sometimes, I go to see friends, and I visit Paris a lot by walking or going to museums. I usually love travelling, discovering new cities and countries, but since that I am in Paris, I haven't had the time yet. There's so much to see here, and the atmosphere of the city is incredible!

I don't know how I could tell you that I'm right for the job, but I'm smiley, I like manual activities, games, and quiet time. I love traveling and discovering new places, so going abroad and integrating a new family is not a fear for me.
