I am TEFL-certified. For two and a half years I taught one-to-one and group classes to children in a nursery. Each child had their own individual learning goals. I would work with them on their listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills. For example, in group classes, we would listen to a book, focus on a sentence from it, and write a sentence about it. I helped each child to reach their target by tailoring different activities to their learning needs. With the 'Word of the week', we would use basic words like "please" and "thank you" and encourage the use of these words throughout the week in conversation. I would also focus on each child's learning progress to keep on top of how they were doing with their vocabulary and reading. I enjoy giving a lot of one-to-one support. With one particular child, I would help them practice writing complete sentences. So, I would talk about what they were interested in and use it as a theme to make full sentences. I love making lessons fun and interesting for students by using props and using lots of TPR.
