Letter to the family
Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is Chloé and I am 21 years old. I am currently studying English literature and civilization in Paris, France, where I was born and raised. I am the second of four siblings, and since my family is quite large, I have always been surrounded by children and people. I would describe myself as sociable, outgoing, and someone who enjoys helping others. I value the human connections that come with being willing to do just that.
I have a passion for reading, music, and sports. I also enjoy good food and great company.
Since turning eighteen, I have made it a priority to use my long summer vacations for work. I see it as an opportunity to gain diverse professional experience, become more independent, and save for the future. While I love the chance to travel and spend time with my loved ones during the summer, I also appreciate the freedom that comes with working professionally. I get to meet new people and feel useful. Last summer, I worked as a care assistant in a nursing home, and the previous summer, I worked as a kitchen assistant in a restaurant. Both experiences were enriching, but this summer, I am seeking a change and would love to return to something I know and enjoy. Becoming an Au Pair for the next two months, especially in an English-speaking country, might just be the experience that involves all the expectations that I cited above. It would offer me the chance to learn, grow, and make a positive impact while helping others.
In terms of my personal qualities, I like to think of myself as altruistic and empathetic. I believe I am good at instinctively understanding what is expected of me, which allows me to adapt quickly to different situations. I am a good listener, or at least I try to be. I am also strong-willed and a perfectionist, which drives me to do my job to the best of my abilities and offer as much help as I can.
If I were to assist and live alongside your family for the upcoming months, it would mean a great deal.I would be a good fit because I am polite and appreciate the importance of family. I would see it as more of an opportunity to help and bond with yours rather than a mere job to take on for a couple of months. I am not against working overtime if you need a break or want to enjoy life outside of your home for a few hours. I am of course open to any discussion regarding how I can do this job and what you expect of me and I am able to take any constructive criticism about the way I do things and how to do them better.
I would be happy to talk about my motivations and commitment in more detail if needed. I thank you for considering my application.
I hope that my profile aligns with your expectations and needs. Please accept, Sir or Madam, my most respectful regards.
