Letter to the family

Hi! My name is Taylor, I’m 22 years old, and I’m from Scottsdale, Arizona. I recently graduated from the University of Arizona, and am currently taking a gap year before attending law school next fall. During this time I’m hoping to become an au pair as I love working with children and would also love to immerse myself in another culture.

I think it’s such a unique experience to live with a family, learn from them, and share my own language and background at the same time. I have many years of childcare experience. I’ve babysat for families with children of all ages, worked as a nanny, spent a summer as a camp counselor, and worked at a preschool. On top of that, I grew up as the oldest of four sisters, so I’ve always had a natural role in helping care for kids. Families can count on me to be responsible, positive, and caring. I enjoy cooking, helping around the house, and keeping kids engaged with fun activities.

Experience

I have several years of experience caring for children of all ages. I’ve worked as a babysitter, nanny, preschool assistant, and summer camp counselor, where I planned fun activities, helped with daily routines, and made sure kids always felt safe and supported. Growing up as the oldest of four sisters also gave me lots of hands-on experience caring for younger children and being a patient, responsible, and compassionate role model.

I want to become an au pair abroad because I love working with children and also want the chance to immerse myself in a new culture. During college, I studied abroad in Barcelona and absolutely loved the experience. It gave me the opportunity to live in another country, meet new people, and explore a different way of life. That time abroad inspired me to continue seeking meaningful cultural exchanges. Living with a host family feels like the best way to experience daily life in another country, while also being able to share my own language and background. I am excited to help children learn, grow, and explore while also discovering new traditions, making meaningful connections, and building memories together.
