Eli (19 / Ms. ), American, Farmer living in USA looking for Au Pair & Nanny job in Netherlands for 2-4 Months

Hello!

My name is Eli and I'm an 18 year old taking a gap year between high school and college. I'm very emotionally aware, curious, reliable, and excited to stay in the Netherlands! I have lots of experience taking care of kids, from my 3 triplet younger brothers, 23 cousins, and local kids I've been babysitting for the last several years. I plan to start college next fall to study urban planning.

I'm available starting this winter, or through the end of July 2024. I would like to stay for at least 5-6 weeks, and as long as 3 months. I have most experience with kids aged 4-10, but I'm comfortable caring for kids of all ages! I'm also happy to help with housework, cooking, and transportation. I'm very flexible depending on your family's needs.

I want to be an Au Pair because I really love kids, and I know that they need care and support from adults in addition to their parents. When I was young, my parents were able to get help from nannies and other young adults to take care of me and my siblings, and it would be amazing to pay that forward. Taking care of kids helps me remember my inner child and stay silly, joyful, and curious.

I'm also really excited about the opportunity to stay in the Netherlands for a longer period. It's such a beautiful country, and I've been learning a lot about the care and design choices that go into the urban planning of many Dutch towns. (Bike infrastructure! walkability! Public transportation!). I'm excited to experience a new culture, language, and community!

Right now I live with my parents and brothers in Illinois in the US. We have a Bernese mountain dog named Pepper, and I'm a huge dog person! I love gardening and spending time in nature. For the last 2 years, I've been working on a local organic vegetable farm, If you have a garden, I'd love to help out! I also love to crochet, read, volunteer in my community, and go on long walks. Cooking and baking is another favorite activity of mine, especially making different types of bread.

My first language is English, and I've been learning Spanish for the last 4 years, and I started learning Dutch recently. I'm a motivated learner, so if there's another language you'd like me to have some proficiency in, I'll study up as much as possible before my stay :)
