Letter to the family

Hello, my future family!

My name is Vlada. I am Russian and I am currently studying in Italy, Venice. I am a kind, cheerful, creative person who has always loved working with children. I enjoy spending my time playing with little ones and I think that children are the wisest people in simple forms. I like creating games for children, read books with them and teach them different things, just as they teach me to find joy in everything.

I have a lot of experience working with kids. I have been:

- a volunteer for the AIESEC educational program where I did presentations and created cultural events for schoolchildren in Czech Republic;
- a camp counsellor & Drama Theatre instructor in the United States of America;
- an English tutor for children;
- a sister of a wonderful girl with Down's syndrome (11 y.o.) who taught me unconditional love and patience.

I would love to work with children again as I have a little window in my academic career - I am completing my Master's degree in English and American Studies and I have only thesis to write and defend in March 2025. I can do it remotely, so my plan is to work as a nanny and then work on my thesis in my spare time.

Experience

I have always wanted to work as an Au Pair, but the right opportunity never aligned with my academic journey. Now, with just one thesis left to write before my graduation in March 2025, I have a significantly more flexible schedule. So now I have a perfect window for working with children, a role I've always been passionate about.

Furthermore, one of the reasons why I am drawn to working with a family in either the Netherlands or Belgium is that I am currently studying Dutch. I would like to improve it and learn more about Dutch culture there.

I consider myself a funny and outgoing person. I enjoy being around people. I am creative and I like writing humorous stories for fun. I used to do a stand-up comedy back in Russia. When I worked at camp in the United States, I ran a Drama Theatre club for children where I taught them how to write scripts and perform. It was a lot of fun!

The most important quality I appreciate in people is kindness. I am very patient when it comes to children or others. I like going to the gym in my spare time. I don't smoke or drink. I have been living by myself since 2017, so as a responsible person, I am completely capable of cooking and keeping the house clean.
