Warm greetings from Dalbeattie, a small town on the south coast of Scotland, surrounded by forests and a unique hilly landscape. Dumfries & Galloway, as the area is called, is a part of Scotland that is characterized by a rocky coast, long sandy beaches and extensive inland forests and green spaces. There are countless nature and outdoor activities, lots of history, cultural attractions, delicious food and much more to experience. Dalbeattie itself is well connected to cities such as Castle Douglas, Dumfries, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.

How do we live? We live in an old country house from the 19th century, in the middle of nature. We have a huge garden. It's a little outside the town of Dalbeattie. We have four very nice neighbors right behind our house who live in small cottages, converted horse stables. Friends have sheep and cows in our fields that we can see, but they do not need to be looked after by us. We live with two cats and will soon be getting a small group of cats. From us it is 5 minutes to Dalbeattie, 7 minutes to the seaside beach, 20 minutes to Dumfries and 30 minutes to Lockerbie, from where trains to Glasgow (approx. 2 hours), Edinburgh (1 ¾ hours) or drive to London (4 hours). Basically, we rely on our cars here to pick up the children, drive to activities and do shopping.
