Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Au Pair,
we are a very warmhearted German family searching for a caring and tender au pair to take care of our kids and particular household tasks. We have been living in China for over 5 years which is why we are searching for a Chinese nanny helping us to keep and improve the Mandarin level of the whole family. For this reason the main language at home will be Mandarin. We will certainly assure you to have enough time to participate in external German language classes yourself, if needed. Since we were so lucky to have a wonderful Ayi in China, who was more than lovely with the kids and who did a great job with helping us to arrange the household, this would also be our requirement for you, as our new Ayi in Germany. Anyway, I believe this should be all discussed privately and in the best case face-to-face since we believe it is very important that all parties are very clear about the other parties interests and requirements.

Job Description

As our new Nanny you should have a good touch for younger children, enjoying to spend time with them. It should be acceptable for you to speak Mandarin at home with our family and learn other languages like German in your leisure time and during language classes. You should be ok with dogs and horses or animals in general. Normal daily tasks in our household like dish washing (even though we have a dish washer ;) , doing the laundry, cleaning the house etc should be ok for you. I believe especially Chinese nationals know which tasks are included in a normal Ayi job in China, this should be the general guideline.
