Dear host family!
My name is Sofia Izabella (20yr) and I come from Slovakia-Bratislava. Even though I was born in Slovakia I have lived most of my life in Austria-Vienna. My father travelled a lot for work, so I also lived in India-Bangalore for some time, because of my father’s work I have travelled quite a lot and am fluent in English and German. I love to travel and to get to know new cultures. I finished high school in summer 2023 and want to work in the medical field one day. I am taking some time to make up my mind what exactly
As a person I am kindhearted and emotional. I understand other persons needs and try to fulfill them as best as I can. I am a very calm and positive person and am almost never irritated. I act with a cool head even in stressful situations.
My passion is mostly for sport, I just love to move. I was a part of the world championships in dragon boat racing and am a kayaker and skier as well, but other than that I do every kind of sport, and love teaching it to kids as well. I am even working on getting a license to teach skiing to children. In my free time I love to spend time in nature (camping..), read books and listen to podcasts. I am very interested in life around the world and bettering it. Debating is one of my many hobbies and I managed to take part at the European championships in German debating.
The reason why I want to become an Au Pair is quite simple, I love children. And I come from a very happy family, with great two brothers and wonderful parents. I would love to be a part of another family. Taking care of children and teaching them new things can be a thrill. My brother has two children a 1-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy and I babysit them often. It brings me so much joy to watch children happy and the innocence that they radiate. My other experience with children is from my boathouse, where I train. There are about 25 children there that I take care of, plan fun activities with- on a monthly basis. And they all adore me, children are often naturally attracted to me. I think this is because I still am a child at heart. I also participated at kids-summer camps as a volunteer.
I am a very neat person, low maintenance and actually like doing some housework and cook easy meals. I would like to take care of children and see how the daily routine from the parents’ view is.
