Dear Host Family, My name is Mororiseng and I was born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa. I am 22 years old and I come from a family consisting of 7 members. I have four siblings, my aunt and my Grandmother. My grandmother raised me and she is now a retired teacher. My family and I love going out together to watch movies and we also enjoy buying board games; which improves our knowledge a lot when we play the new games. I was raised to be independent and always help out around our house by cooking, cleaning and doing laundry. In my free time I write short stories in order to for fill my dream to be an author, being an Author has been my fall out plan if being a child phycologist doesn’t really work out; I have written a novel and plenty of short stories to keep my mind flowing with ideas. I’m always in the kitchen which is another passion of mine, cooking and baking is something that I would like to pursue very soon because of how of often I have to help my grandmother in the kitchen. I love to read fictional books and historic books and I am a very high spirited person who loves reading and dancing. I have so much childcare experience and I absolutely adore kids. I cared for Berry who was a 2 months old baby boy. My duties with Berry included preparing meals, doing laundry, changing diapers, playing, cleaning, putting berry down for naps and feeding. I have babysat an older child, Ona who was a 10 years old girl . I used to prepare meals, clean, tutor, entertain and do the laundry. I currently assist with my siblings and I help out by waking them up, assisting with homework, preparing meals, packing their lunch, picking them up from school and I take them to extra mural activities. I had a wonderful time at a day care centre where I worked with 2 to 4 year olds. My responsibilities included playing, reading, supervising outdoor play, feeding and I assisted with restroom routines. I have babysat Ituleng and Lesego and my duties with them included serving meals, going with them to the park and assisting with homework. Lastly, I also babysat Lebogang, Tsepho, Resego and Didi. I used to assist with homework, feed, bottle feed, change diapers and play with the children. Kids can be challenging at times but challenges help us understand what we can’t seem to understand at first but with patience we learn to work it through. I want to be an au pair because of my passion for children and watching them grow into amazing people and finding their talent and going after their dreams and aspirations in life. Exploring different cultures and travelling while still looking after children will help in my driven hopes in becoming a child phycologist. After this adventure I would like to pursue child phycology because I believe in helping children not only physically but mentally and emotionally. Helping parents connect well with their children is what I would love to do. I am a responsible and trustworthy person and I complete tasks given to me. I am patient and resourceful, open and respectful to all. I love team work; it helps engage with people and understand how they operate.
