Hello, my future host family!

I'm Sara, a 19-year-old student from a small town near Prague in the Czech Republic. Currently, I am in my last year of high school, and after high school, I plan to attend university to study law. However, before doing so, I wish to take a break from school and become an au pair.

Becoming an au pair has been my dream since childhood. I've always enjoyed experiencing different cultures, and what better way to do so than by living in a host family? My passion for this was encouraged during my exchange year in the USA in 2021. I lived with two host families, forming strong bonds with both.

During my time in the USA, I had the opportunity to assist my host families in various ways, from caring for the children to household chores. I believe my success in connecting with them was thanks to my willingness to contribute and express gratitude for their hospitality.

In my first host family, I cared for two daughters aged 12 and 8, and in the second, I looked after twin girls aged 2 and a 4-year-old boy. Helping take care of children from both of these families was always fun to me, no matter the age of the kids.

Another valuable experience I gained was working as a ski instructor at a week-long ski camp for elementary school kids. I supervised a group of 20 children, aged 8 to 11, teaching them how to ski. Managing the safety of 20 kids on a ski slope was challenging but extremely rewarding. This experience not only boosted my confidence in skiing instruction but also in childcare.

Additionally, I bring language skills to the table, holding a C2 certificate in English. Helping kids improve their English would be a pleasure for me. Of course, for native English speakers, I am open to learning myself, as there's always room for improvement when it comes to learning languages :).
