Dear Host Family,
My name is Lívia, an 18 year old Brazilian student, who is currently looking for a host family. I have plans on starting University soon, but before that, I would like to explore different cultures and contribute positively in a new family. I am a future International Relations student, therefore, this experience would not only be ideal for my future plans, but very unique for my personal desires, since it offers a cultural context that is different from mine. Not only that, I believe that to be part of a new family would allow me to grow as a person and would have a positive impact on your family too.
My native language is Portuguese, but since I love travelling and always had an interest in other languages and cultures, I learnt English at a young age. Communication would not be a problem, in fact, our cultural and language differences would be beneficial for all of us!
I come from a lovely family of 5 (including me) – I have a younger sister and a baby bother. They both contributed into me wanting to become an AuPair. When I was younger, I took care of them in the way I could, and as I grew up, I started babysitting other kids, while on Secondary School. In addition, I was in charge of programs in the Church, which involved looking after children.
I am a patient, caring, friendly, easy going, and have self- motivated personality. I love adventures and travelling, so I am always up for a new adventure. I am passionate about books – I have lost the count on how many books I have read in life. I can certainly say that this makes me a great story teller and hopefully, sharing our own stories could be a great plan.
I am very active, I have always enjoyed playing sports. In fact, I was part of the volleyball team in my hometown and participated into competitions, which has taught me how to be perseverant and dedicated. Music is also part of my skills, mainly because of my mother, who plays in the Church. She was the main example for me and for this reason, I play the piano and would love to share this with your family by teaching and/or just for fun.
In sum, I strongly believe by joining your family I can have the experience I need to go to University, for my personal desires and consequently make a big difference out there. This also applies to your family! It would be wonderful share some of my culture, and take a little of yours with me! Therefore, I am really looking forward to this.
