Dear Host Family, my name is Sandy, I'm 24 years old, and I'm a Brazilian English teacher living in a small city in the state of Sergipe. I teach kids from ages 2 to 10, 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday. I love children, I am patient, understanding, responsable and creative. I know how to entertain kids and be firm when needed. I love getting to know children, what they like to do and being able to show and teach them different sides of the world. As a Brazilian English teacher, I would be able to share two languages with the family, and all my knowledge of my native country. I have always wanted to travel to other countries, and would love if this opportunity worked out while I get to work with a beautiful family and study another language.
The main reason I want to be an Au Pair now is that I love working with kids, but I realized that the school/classroom may not be the best environment for me, I want the experience of spending more time with kids at their home, developing a different connection than what I do at school, while also sharing with them stories and knowledge about the world, at the same time the family will share their culture and stories with me, it's an unique experience that I consider it to be very valuable. Another reason is that I have always wanted to study and live abroad when I was younger, and I never got the chance to for a variety of reasons, but now I am able to take these dreams out of the paper and make it a reality.
