Letter to the family

Dear Future Host Family,

Buongiorno! My name is Giuseppe, I’m 23 years old and I come from Cremona—the “capital of the violin,” where music drifts through our narrow streets like the scent of fresh focaccia. I share a cozy home with my mother, grandmother, and my 19-year-old sister. Growing up as the “man of the house” while both my mum and nonna managed chronic health challenges gave me an early apprenticeship in empathy, patience, and practical care. Those years shaped me more than any classroom could.

Why I’m drawn to the Au Pair & Elderly-Care path
A heart for service. For six years I’ve volunteered after school, coaching elementary pupils through homework hurdles and celebrating each “Eureka!” moment. That same joy sparks when I help my grandmother lace her shoes or guide an anxious child through multiplication tables.

A hunger to grow. “Per arricchirmi” to enrich myself means stepping beyond Cremona, exchanging stories with new cultures, tasting different lives. Living abroad isn’t tourism; it’s a dialogue that stretches both sides.

Bridging generations. I feel equally at ease teaching a seven-year-old to juggle irregular English verbs as I do discussing 1960s Italian cinema with a senior. Caring for children and honoring elders call on the same skill set: attentive listening, reliable routine, and genuine warmth.

Why invite me into your home?
Chef in training. My mum is a chef; her legacy now travels in my apron pocket. From a humble risotto alla zucca to a celebratory lasagne al forno, I love gathering people around the table and letting the aromas start the conversation.

First-aid ready. I’m certified in basic life support and first aid (BLS-D). Whether it’s a scraped knee in the playground or monitoring blood pressure for nonna, safety sits front-row in my mind.

Storied companionship. My passions—history, politics, social science, philosophy—mean dinner-time chat seldom stalls. I can turn Roman aqueducts or the ethics of technology into bedtime stories, scaled to the listener’s age and curiosity.

Positive adaptability. Years of balancing studies, caregiving, and volunteering taught me to pivot smoothly: one minute revising a child’s math quiz, the next troubleshooting a wheelchair ramp. I call it “elastic calm.”

If my profile feels like the missing piece in your family puzzle, I would be honored to video-chat and learn more about your routines, expectations, and dreams. Grazie mille for considering my application. Whatever your decision, I wish your household harmony and good health.

Con affetto e gratitudine,
Giuseppe :)

Experience

I’ve spent six years caring daily for my mum and grandmother—managing medication, mobility, and meals while volunteering after school to tutor primary pupils. I pair practical safety with warm companionship.
I seek an au-pair/elder-care role abroad to trade cultures, deepen my skills, and offer families the same calm, reliable support I give at home turning shared routines into shared growth.
While also volunteering after school to tutor primary pupils, guiding them through homework, reading practice, and exam prep
