Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

My name is Naomi Rose, and I come from Kerala, a beautiful region in southern India, known for its warmth, tradition, and strong sense of community. I am 19 years old and completed my secondary education in April 2024. Recently, I spent some months in the United Kingdom for further studies, which helped me build confidence, independence, and a deep appreciation for intercultural living.

I wish to become an au pair because I love working with children, and I believe that supporting a child’s growth with care, structure, and kindness is one of the most meaningful things one can do. Being an au pair also allows me to immerse myself in a new culture—not as a visitor, but as part of a family, learning from you and giving back through my time and effort.

I bring with me a gentle heart, a sense of responsibility, and practical experience. I am fluent in English and have earned an A1 certificate in German from the Goethe-Institut. I am also emotionally mature, dependable, and deeply respectful of others' homes and parenting values. My personality is calm, friendly, and flexible — I adapt well and step in wherever I’m needed.

This is not just a program for me — it is a personal journey to serve, connect, and grow. I am fully committed to becoming a positive, trusted presence in your home.

Warm regards,
Naomi Rose

Experience

Although I am at the beginning of my formal journey as an au pair, I come with a rich foundation of childcare experience gained through caring for children within my extended family and community. I’ve looked after infants, toddlers, and school-aged children, often being the one called upon to help when parents were busy or away.

My responsibilities have included:

Feeding babies and toddlers

Changing diapers and assisting with hygiene

Creating a bedtime routine with storytelling and songs

Helping with school homework and reading sessions

Planning creative activities like drawing, singing, and simple crafts

Taking children on walks, playing outdoor games, and riding bicycles

Most of all, I’ve learned how to be patient, playful, and attentive—meeting children at their level, listening to them, and making them feel safe and heard. These real life experiences have taught me how to handle daily challenges with empathy and calmness, which I believe are key qualities for any au pair.

Becoming an au pair abroad is a unique opportunity to step into a new culture with open eyes and an open heart. I am drawn to this path because it offers a rare blend of cultural learning, language improvement, and meaningful human connection — all through the heart of a family!

Living abroad means more than travel to me. It means forming real relationships, adapting to a new rhythm of life, and growing in ways that textbooks or classrooms can never teach. Having already lived briefly in the UK, I discovered how much I enjoy adjusting to a new environment. I never felt homesick — instead, I felt curious, motivated, and inspired.
As an au pair abroad, I will not only assist a family, but also become part of something bigger: a beautiful cultural exchange rooted in trust and mutual respect.
