I am April Joy, 37 years old. I have been living and working here in Japan for six years. Currently, I work as a school nurse at a British International Boarding School. The school has 362 students from 17 different nationalities. I wish to live and work in another country outside of Asia.

I come from a big, loving, and united family. I grew up surrounded by love, and my childhood was very old-fashioned. I am passionate about helping others, especially the elderly. I also love teaching and caring young learners.

My experience here in Tokyo as a caregiver was very interesting because I was new at that time and my Japanese was not very good. But if you are comfortable and compassionate about what you are doing, even the language barrier is not much of a hindrance in understanding what others or clients need. It’s about feeling and understanding the emotions of others.
