Letter to the family

Dear host family,

My name is Elsie and I'm a twenty year old university student from the UK. I have three younger siblings (ages 18,14 and 4) as well as lots of younger cousins and love them all. I've babysat them a lot across the years, and children of my parents friends as well. When I was fifteen I was a nanny to a family during the summer and once a week would accompany them on excursions and around the house, helping the mother with her baby girl and toddler twin boys. My mother runs music classes for babies and toddlers, and is a doula and hypnobirth teacher, so I've grown up being constantly surrounded by little ones. I love children and love being a big sister.

Experience

I currently study Philosophy at university which I love, but I've always been interested in linguistics. I definitely want to live abroad at some point after I graduate. I studied Spanish in secondary school which I really enjoyed, but I've always been interested specifically in Italian and Italian culture . I have been trying to teach myself the language in my spare time. I work part-time in a Neapolitan pizza restaurant alongside University, so regularly have Italian customers so try to practice a few phrases when I can. Being an au pair is the perfect opportunity to expand my linguistic skills, whilst offering childcare experiences which I'm not only good at but enjoy, and being able to see the world!
