Letter to the family

Dear host family,
My name is Mutiat, I am a 28 year old lady from Nigeria and I currently reside in Jersey City in New Jersey in the US. I come from a family of ten and I'm the last daughter in my family.
I know being an Au Pair is a big responsibility as caregiving is one of the most rewarding things one would ever do. I have a loving family who cares for me and this gives me the courage to make people understand that having the honor of caring for someone is an ultimate gift.
It would be an honor and pleasure to live with a host family and entrusted with the care of their loved children. I would be able to share my interests, skills and experience with them. I have lived with families with children around me and worked as a teacher of children from ages one to ten in Nigeria. I have the patience to interact with little humans and have a way of explaining things to them and helping them discover the joy in learning. I find caring for others gives me immense happiness and joy and I look forward to being able to share this with your family.
By nature of being the last daughter in a large family, I grew up with a sense of purpose and execute my tasks and chores diligently. Taking care of children will require someone with this diligence of purpose and I am up to the task.

Experience

I studied Public Administration and graduated with a Higher National Diploma (equivalent to a Bachelor’s of Arts) degree. Through this program I learned about effective management towards the achievement of predetermined goal and the importance of integrating multiple efforts from different people in executing a successful plan.
I worked as a teacher for a year during my National Youth Service Corps in Nigeria. I understand what it means to care for others; especially the children and I would love to experience what it’s like to do the same in another country.
