Letter to the family
Dear host family
My name is Karoline. I am 19 years old and come from Kristiansand, Norway. I just finished high school here in Noway, and I am ready for a year filled with new experiences before I leave for the army in august. I have always had a passion for working with children. I am an active person who loves staying healthy and leading a balanced lifestyle. Whether it's hiking, cycling, or playing sports, I enjoy outdoor activities and believe these are excellent ways to engage children and keep them active as well.
Growing up, I often helped my mother with my little brother, and I have always been involved in looking after my younger relatives. This experience has given me firsthand knowledge of the needs of children at different stages in life, and has shown me how much fun it is to be around kids and too see them do well.
I also have a deep love for animals and have grown up with both cats and dogs. Caring for them has taught me responsibility, empathy, and the importance of creating a loving environment for all family members, including pets. I understand how important pets can be in a family, and I am more than happy to help care for them as well.
I previously spent a year as an exchange student in the United States, where I experienced living abroad and adapted to a different culture. This experience made me more independent, flexible, and open-minded, qualities I am eager to bring into my role as an Au Pair and Nanny.
Becoming an Au Pair and Nanny is more than just a job to me; it is a chance to immerse myself in a new culture, develop meaningful relationships, and contribute positively to a family’s life. I am eager to learn from your family’s culture and traditions while sharing my own. The opportunity to live abroad while caring for children really is the perfect blend of my passion for childcare and my desire for cultural exchange. I believe this experience will allow me to grow both personally and professionally, and I am excited to go on this journey with you.
I understand that welcoming someone new into your home is a hard decision, and I want to assure you that I will treat your family and home with the utmost respect and care. I am very adaptable, open-minded, and eager to become a part of your family. I bring with me a strong work ethic, a genuine love for children, and a commitment to creating a safe, happy, and nurturing environment for your kids. My active and healthy lifestyle means I can keep up with your children’s energy and promote positive habits in their daily routines. My experience abroad has also equipped me with the skills needed to integrate smoothly into a new environment and to be a positive influence in your household.
I have several years of experience in caring for children. My experience includes working as a babysitter, taking care of my brother and helping around with daily tasks. My organizational skills, creativity, and ability to engage children in educational and fun activities are qualities I believe would be beneficial to your family. Additionally, I am fluent in norwegian and english, which could be an asset in helping your children with their language skills or homework.
In conclusion, I am very excited about the possibility of joining your family as an Au Pair and Nanny. I am confident that my skills, experience, and positive attitude make me a great fit for your family. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to your children’s growth and well-being while learning from you.
Thank you for considering my application. I am eager to discuss how I can be a valuable addition to your family and to answer any questions you may have.
Warm regards, Karoline
