Sofia (21 / Ms. ), British, Student - Social Science living in United Kingdom looking for Au Pair job in United Arab Emirates for 1-1 Months

Hello everyone!

I am Sofia, I am 21 years old and I live in London with my English/Italian family. I have two younger sisters: Amy is 19 and studies in Canterbury, and Chloe is 17 and doing her A levels. I am also a student - I have just completed my second year of studying International Relations in central London - I love it!

Growing up my family and I have moved around between the UK and Italy: I was born in London and lived here until the age of 5, and then moved to Italy to be near my Mum’s family (and all the other amazing Italian traits) until I was nearly 14. Being multicultural and multilingual has been very rewarding and opened a whole lot of new opportunities and desires! It is because of this that I have a passion for languages and have gone on to learn Spanish - which I speak almost fluently now - and Arabic - which I started learning this year.

Speaking these languages is what motivated me to be an Au Pair in Spain in 2018 as I wanted some work experience in the country where the language is spoken so that I could immerse myself in the culture and traditions.

I have experience with children as I have been an Au Pair before and have absolutely loved the experience! I lived with a family in Majorca, Spain for a month in July 2018 and repeated the experience three times - they are my second family now. I supervised three children (aged 12, 10 and 7 at the time) and taught them English through lessons, creative ways such as cooking or sports, and simply through always speaking the language with them (although they were often reluctant to!).
I have always loved children and been surrounded by them and thus taken on a babysitter role. I am the oldest of three sisters and so have always exercised a role of responsibility. I also have experience in teaching as since 2018 I have been tutoring Spanish and Italian to children and adults as my part-time job.

I am looking for a family to host me as an older sister to look after or spend time with their children for a period in summer. I will be in Egypt 19th-30th July and so I’m looking for a family to be with after that for a period of 3 weeks. I am looking for a family in Dubai as I am keen on continuing my Middle-Eastern experience as I would love to learn more of the culture in that part of the world and put into practice the language which I have been learning.
