Letter to the family

Hi there! My name is Lily, I am 18 years old from California and I’m super excited to get to know you! I heard about what an au pair is through a family friend who thought I would be a good fit for the role, and I was instantly intrigued. It’s been on my mind for a few months now and I have finally come to the place where I’m ready to start pursuing it. I absolutely adore kids! I’ve been babysitting since I was about 13 years old and I have truly loved every second of it. I love creating connections with children and giving them opportunities to grow and learn. I love to travel and get out in the world and I feel as though this time in my life is the perfect chance to meet new people and try new things!

Experience

I have been consistently babysitting for about 5 years now with many different kinds of experiences. One that’s stands out the most is a family I babysat for that had 3 amazing girls and one foster boy. This was a very challenging experience but I’m very grateful because of how much I learned from it. The baby boy was about 6 months old when I started caring for him, and he had lots of issues when it came to sleeping and his diet, on top of looking after the other 3 girls. Unfortunately they moved out of state, so my time with them got cut short but I will forever remember them and thank them for giving me the opportunity to learn so much and gain a connection with their family/children. Because of my experience with them I’m so excited to see what being an au pair has in store for me!
