Letter to the family

Dear future family I’m Thatogatsi, meaning favourite in SeTswana, one South Africa’s many languages. I am 23 years old, I stay in a small town of Benoni east of Johannesburg. I’ll make a good Au pair as I have dealt with children my whole life, I have two siblings and eleven cousins. We all grew up in one house, so as the eldest I would always be responsible for the little ones as their parents would leave for work. I would also help my aunt out at the school, she a primary school teacher, so I’d sometimes go with her to class and help out with keeping the kids occupied whenever she’s busy.

Experience

I’d make a great au pair because I have attended childcare safety courses and first aid seminars as safety is paramount when caring for children. I’ll also be helping with their homework, transport them to and from school, and have some after-school activities and play dates. I’d also help prepare snacks and meals for the children and would love to also take care of the family pet if there is one.
