I've never really done childcare as a "babysitting" job. Let's just say that I'm regularly with children. When I was young, I spent a long time playing with my neighbors, who were younger than me. At first, it was for an hour or two, then gradually their parents let me watch them for afternoons where I invented games, we built tree houses, etc. Then, I had the opportunity to accompany them on the school bus in the morning and then to their classrooms.
