Johanna (18 / Ms. ), German, Student - High School living in Germany looking for Au Pair job in United Kingdom & Ireland for 3-12 Months

My name is Johanna and I would love to become your au pair.
I’m an 18 years old student living in Germany. In June, I’m going to finish my A-levels. It has been one of my biggest dreams to spend my gap year in the UK or in Ireland for a long time now. Ideally, I’d like to spend six months in your family, but I don’t rule out, staying longer. I plan to start my au pair in September/October 2024. I’m used to not seeing my family for a longer period of time, so homesickness should not be a problem. 

I enjoy spending time with children and taking care of them a lot. Along with that, I love the English language, and I’m looking forward to improving it during my stay with you. Currently, my speaking level is B2. I’ve been to the UK two times and I absolutely adored it! As a fellow Harry Potter fan and bookworm, visiting London was my favourite thing ever! Besides London, I visited Cornwall, which was very lovely as well. I love to travel and getting to know new cultures! I would appreciate getting some free weekends/days so I could be able to explore my new surroundings a little more and get to know as much of the country as possible. If you do some family trips I would love to be included as well. I can’t await to make new experiences and learn new skills! Furthermore, I’m curious to try new food and besides the fact that I’m a vegetarian I’m not a picky eater nor complicated to live with. 

Regarding my tasks, I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time with your children, but I also don’t mind helping with day-to-day household tasks at all!

Playing with children is really special to me because they see the world in such an imaginative way that always reminds me of my own childhood. However, I’m aware that looking after a child is not always easy. I do expect that I will be exhausted at some points, but I’m willing to handle difficult situations. I’m patient with children, and I’m always keen to find a fun solution for every problem.
