My name is Yaneth Valdes, I am 21 years old, and I am from Mexico. I would like to start by telling you a little about my family. At the moment, I live only with my mother. I have one brother and two sisters, but since they already have their own families, they no longer live with us. My mom is my greatest inspiration she always supports me and motivates me to follow my dreams. Why do I want to be an au pair?
Besides the fact that I love children and want to spend time with them, one of my main reasons is that we have so much in common. For example, children are naturally curious, and just like them, I love to explore and discover everything around me. I believe there is no better way to learn about something than by experiencing it. I would love to be that person who can show them the world from a different perspective, to be there with them in every step, and to learn together. Experience

My first work experience was at a daycare, where I took care of children ranging from newborns to 11 years old. This experience made me realize how much I love spending time with kids. They are so energetic, creative, friendly, and above all, brave, they are never afraid to try new things. During this time, I know that both the children and I learned a lot from each other. My responsibilities included bathing them, dressing them, preparing their meals, feeding them, playing with them, reading stories, doing arts and crafts, and keeping the classrooms tidy and organized according to their age groups. So far, this has been my favorite experience.

My second work experience was a bit different, as I was responsible for taking care of just one child “Rubén,” a charming little boy. I worked with his family for about eight months. My main tasks included dressing him, feeding him, dropping him off and picking him up from school, helping him with homework, taking him to his sports practices, sometimes practicing with him, and also helping with a few household chores. He was a reserved child, but it filled me with joy to see his happy face whenever I arrived and to hear him excitedly tell me about the new things he had learned. I knew we had built a special bond, and that truly made me happy.
