Letter to the family

Hello, My name is Stefanie and I am 22 years old. I am from Sydney, Australia and have just graduated from University with a Bachelor of Security Studies. I live with my mum, dad and my 24 year old brother as well as my maternal grandmother. I also have an Australian Shepherd named Charlie whom I love dearly.

My first language is English and I have also studied Italian for 10 years at school causing me to have an intermediate degree of knowledge although I would love to expand on my knowledge or even learn a new language through exposure and lessons.

Having just graduated from University i am looking to take some time off and travel the world to learn and experience new cultures.

I am a hardworking, honest, loyal, responsible and respectful person with a love for looking after children. Growing up I always loved taking care of children and always jumped at the opportunity to babysit. I even volunteered at my local school helping look after kindergarten children aged 4-6. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends and getting lost in a good book, i also enjoy travelling as i love being able to experience new things.

Experience

While I haven’t worked as an official Au Pair before, I have hands-on experience caring for children through babysitting and volunteering at a local school. These experiences have helped me develop patience, creativity, and a strong sense of responsibility. I enjoy spending time with children whether it’s helping with homework, engaging them in play, or supporting their routines and I find it rewarding to contribute to their growth and confidence.

I would love to become an Au Pair abroad because I’m passionate about cultural exchange and learning new languages. Living with a host family offers a unique opportunity to experience another culture deeply while becoming a trusted part of a household. I’m excited by the idea of creating meaningful connections, sharing my own culture, and gaining new perspectives all while supporting a family and caring for their children in a positive and reliable way.
