Letter to the family

Hello families! My name is Ella and I am 20 years old and I am from a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. I have always has a love for travel but not always the funds for it. Me and my family have traveled all over the U.S. and I have been to over 25 states but i have only recently had the opportunity to go to Europe. In the summer of 2024 me and my parents traveled around Germany and a little bit of Switzerland. This was an incredible experience that really made my love oof traveling grow. I have worked in child care since i was about 13 years old and have been taking my CPR and First-Aid certifications for the past 5 summers to make sure they are always up to date. Throughout high school my family hosted exchange students every year and opening up our home to exchange students has changed my life. Giving them an opportunity they have dreamed of and getting to see their excitement for everyday activities was so special. My parents have always talked about me staying in Europe and gaining those cultural differences at some point in my life. Wiht my love of children i think that this is the perfect time for me!

Experience

I have been babysitting since I was about 13 years old and continued throughout high school. Some of my job descriptions with those jobs were picking up the kids from school, helping them with any homework they had, playing with them outside, and preparing them an easy meal until their parents got home from work. For the past 5 years I have worked at a summer camp leading my campers through the day. I work with all ages raging from 5-13 and with all types of needs. Some of my kids are very shy and I make sure to make them feel safe and welcome so that they can build a layer of trust with me. I also have worked with special needs kids and navigating how to make their summer amazing while accommodating their autism. I am in college to be a teacher and I know there’s nothing i would rather do than make a difference in children’s lives. I truly have a love for kids that has never been worn down even after all my years and hours working with children. I love the bonds and connections I have created with every child I meet and I know that there are so many more opportunities like this that I would love to explore.
