Work abroad in Vera's family for 6-24 Months starting from Nov 2024 as an Au Pair to take care of 2 children of 1 - 5 years old in Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate Germany

We would like someone to support us in the care and upbringing of Annelie and Charlotte.

It would be good if you already have experience with children of kindergarten age and you enjoy dealing with little people and you also know how to play with them, distract them when they miss mom and deal with them when they being in a bad mood or not doing what they are told. We would like you to actively engage with the children during your working hours - for example by reading to them, doing crafts, singing, rhyming or doing gymnastics.

You do babysitting in the evening about once a week.

We also need help around the house, e.g. with tidying up, cooking, washing clothes and ironing.
Cleaning is not one of your tasks as a cleaner comes once a week.

Because of my work as a flight attendant and the irregular working hours that come with it, we don't have a fixed weekly schedule. However, if you want, you will receive a calendar in which I will enter your tasks so that you can plan. And we discuss everything in detail.

Overall, we are just looking for someone who has a heart to support us. Someone who likes to help and lend a hand and wants to be part of a happy German family and loves looking after children.

In return, we ensure that you have enough free time to pursue your hobbies and attend a German course two to three times a week.

Your days off are variable and will always be agreed upon with you. Your wishes and needs are important to us and we want you to express them.
Sometimes you will have Sundays or Saturdays off, but also a day off during the week - or two days. In your free time we offer you to do something with us. If you prefer, you can of course also have time for yourself. Overall, we want someone who sees themselves as a family member, not as a worker - and who enjoys sharing our lives with us.

You get 280 euros pocket money and a subsidy of 70 euros per month for attending a German course. We pay your health insurance and travel costs for public transport in Germany. We will also cover the costs of extending your visa (if you are not from the EU). We're happy to invite you on activities and pay for you when we travel together. And of course you live with us like a family member and we buy the food you like best, for example. With us you will have everything you need - and more than that. :-)

You should already speak German at B1 level. We would be happy to help you further improve your German. At home we speak standard German without a dialect.
