Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hello future Au Pair! We are an American family moving to Germany, looking for a fun-loving, caring Au Pair to join our family. We have one daughter, almost 2, who loves dancing, bubbles, being outdoors, and meeting new people. She has had great experiences both in daycare (in a classroom) and with a nanny. We are an active family and love to go hiking, biking, and traveling. As our daughter gets bigger, we hope to discover more things to do together!

Our house is in a village close to several other villages/towns, and 20 minutes from the city of Kaiserslautern. There is a train station 15 minutes from the house in Landstuhl, and language schools in Kaiserslautern.

Job Description

Jamie and Sebastian are both pilots and will probably work full days (0700-1700 many days) even when we are not flying. When we go on work trips we could be gone for 2-7 days at a time. We will try to not be gone at the same time but it might happen once or twice a month, for a night or two. We would expect the Au Pair to care for our daughter while we are at work, including those overnight trips. We would also ask for help with light housework (cleaning up after Leina and preparing her food when we are away).

We have a house with a "mother-in-law" apartment downstairs for you to live in. You would have your own bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. We will have WiFi. The house is in a town close to stores for food and shopping, and not far from bus and train stations (15 minutes or less). Many other towns are also biking distance, with pools and parks to visit.
