Although all non-EU applicants need a visa for Luxembourg, there are several documents that the Au Pairs and the Host Families need to take care of before visa. You can find all the detailed steps in the Au Pair requirements in Luxembourg. Let’s briefly look into them:
Permission from the Luxembourg Ministry of Education
Remember that only the Au Pairs who received the permit from the ministry can become the participants of the program. The participant has to submit the application with all required documents. After the receiving the confirmation, the Host Family needs to submit it to the National Youth Service.
Get a temporary stay in Luxembourg
The Au Pair needs to apply for a temporary stay in the Department of Immigration. They will need copy of the participant’s passport, birth certificate and the Au Pair’s approval from the Ministry.
Visa for Luxembourg
The type of the visa will depend on the length of the stay. If the Au Pair and the Host Family agreed on the stay for less than three months, the participant needs to apply for the C-type visa. If the Au Pair needs to stay longer than three months, he/she will require a D-type visa.
Among the list of specific documents mentioned above, don’t forget to sign the contract as it confirms the proof of Au Pair’s goal of visiting Luxembourg.
