Dear host family,
My name is Joyce, but mostly I go by the name Maya from my second name . I am a 22 years old girl and I live in Mombasa, a coastal town in Kenya, a beautiful country in Africa.
I am an open-minded, hard-working, easy-going, dedicated, trustworthy, helpful, patient, and responsible person. I love taking care of kids and their health, safety, and happiness are the most important to me.
I come from a small family of four that is my mother, father and my young brother. Both my parents live and work in Nairobi and my brother is currently in high school I am part of a very close family, and as a result my close inner circle of friend is also often viewed as ‘family’. I cherish and value my friendships; choosing to surround myself with loyal and fun people.
I recently graduated from the Technical University of Mombasa, with a Diploma in Human Resource Management . I love traveling and that is why I took a challenge to move to a different city for my studies, I also love learning new languages and different cultures, meeting new people, and definitely making memories. My very calm, collected, patient, and quick learning nature always comes in handy when dealing with challenging situations
I would describe my strength as an aspiring Au pair as the ability to bond really well with kids and also blending in very easily and as a result being able to be their mentor in different aspects of life and also be like their big sister, also the ability to learn from my mistakes. On the other hand, I would describe my weakness as an aspiring Au Pair is that I have a hard time letting go of something or someone because I get too attached to children especially and hence becomes emotionally hard to detach from
I am searching for a host family, that would be happy to have me as part of the family. I am looking for a long time stay with my host family, for 6 months or more depending on the connection formed with the family
