Dear Host family,
my name is Rosa Santa, but I prefer just Rosa, it’s cooler? I’m from Italy and I'm 24. I’m from southern Italy, but five years ago I’ve moved to Rome because of University. Here, in Rome I live with two housemates, while my family still live in Calabria. At home we are 6: my dad, who is a lumberjack; my mum, she is a housewife, my two sisters, my brother and me. We are used to have a little dog, which died three months ago.
When I was younger, my older sister tried to teach me how to play volleyball, so then I joined her volleyball team. I’m not the best, but I can play soccer too. I grew up with my older brother, who shared his passion for his favourite soccer team with me and my sisters. In any case, I stopped to play because of the university. However, I’ve started to go to the gym. As regards other passions, lately I’ve discovered my interest in cooking, especially baking cakes and cooking pasta. When I lived with my parents, I usually helped my mum preparing lunch or dinner. Now I do for myself?.
I’m quite organized and I like to create new routine every month. I’m not a monotonous person rather I enjoy discovering and try new (or strange) things. Regarding my daily diet is simple: I eat and like everything?. When I was 14/15, I used to help my auntie looking after her two little girls. They were very energetic and sometimes it was very difficult to calm them down when there were some fights. We always tried to keep them active. During childhood, children quickly learn, and I love to do with them many interactive and funny activities. I’m interested in what they think and how they see the world. At High School I’ve studied economics, law, and languages, even though I’m only keen on languages. Indeed, I’m attending linguistic and intercultural mediation. I can speak French, English and German (level B1/2 more or less) and I'd like to learn spanish. I’m a sociable person, sympathetic (I hope!) and cheerful. I love knowing about other cultures. My best quality is that I’m suitable for any cultural environment. That’s why I did Erasmus in Belgium and Germany for five months, last year. I used to live with other eighteen people who were coming from all over the world. At first, it’s been hard to adapt, but few days later we already shared everything, above all our culinary knowledge.
I’m searching a family, who can help me to improve my German skills and who can teach me a lot of things about his culture.
