Hello, my name is Laura. I am a student in Community Youth Work in Dundalk, Ireland. I grew up in Leitrim, Ireland, so I have a love for nature, outdoors and animals. Living here in the town I do some dog walking and animal sitting. My interests include music - I play some piano, guitar and ukulele, art, reading, dance, photography. I have started learning to skateboard and recently have been cycling a lot more as transport while I'm learning to drive.

I would like to be an au pair for a number of reasons. Overall, it would encompass multiple things at once; a new experience, travel, learning opportunities, gaining experience for future career and future parenthood, a set income for a certain period of time. I am a patient and kind individual. Although I don't have a lot of experience as a guardian, I have been around children in many different settings. I have helped out at dance and piano camps, as well as Christian youth groups and camps. I am currently on my second work placement in a youth service in which I interact with many different young people from different backgrounds and settings, spending time with them and facilitating activities and learning how to support their development.

I like to keep my home clean and organised as best as a busy college student can. I am comfortable cooking and baking, although I wouldn't boast myself to be a good chef. I don't smoke and rarely drink alcohol. My idea of a good time with friends would be good food, good conversations, laughter, maybe some games or exploring a new area. I value quality time and would be happy to support a family to be able to spend more time together, or make someone's life easier by helping out in the ways that they need. I feel passionate about contributing to the lives of others.
