Letter to the family

Hi there! I am Adrienne and I'm a 23-year-old student from the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago. I want to be an au pair because I think it is a great way to expand my horizons, experience new places and meet new people. I am polite, respectful, open to new things, and trustworthy. I have experience working with teenage boys from a group home teaching them a subject that they hated...mathematics. I would always find a way to relate to them and by the end of my time there they improved and became a little more agreeable. I always say that if I could do that, I could do anything hahaha. Most of all I understand that my job as an au pair is to make your life easier, so I am willing to help you to the best of my abilities. I love to dance and share my culture so I hope that I can share my Caribbean culture with you and your kids. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Experience

I want to become an au pair because I would like to exchange cultures and experience life in a different country. During the Summer of 2022, I was au pair to a wonderful family in Burgos, Spain. It was one of the highlights of my life and I would love to have an experience like that again. Before the pandemic, I had some experience working with and supervising teenagers as a math tutor at a home for boys around the ages of 13-17. Before that, I volunteered on weekends at a center for children with autism where we did activities to help them learn and cope with the world while having fun. I hope the skills that I built over the years can be put to good use by helping your family.
