Hylkia (18 / Ms. ), Dutch & German, Graduate (high school) living in Netherlands looking for Au Pair job in France, Italy, Maldives, Philippines & Switzerland for 2-3 Months

As someone who babysits a lot for families with young children (1- 5 years), I did learn how to take responsibility, how to handle difficult situations and still be gentle. You really learn what 'being patient' actually means haha, but for me, this is the most important while dealing with children; having patience. Also I did an internship at a kindergarten (so toddlers), where I learned how to teach in a playful manner. With this internship I realised that I really enjoy working with children and trying to understand what is the best way to communicate with all these different individuals. The same will count for your children; I will give my everthing to make them feel comfortable, to understand how they develop best in their own way. Taking into account that I will adapt that way of au-pairing to your values and ideas of raising kids. Why abroad? Well to be honest; the weather here in the Netherlands is horrible, to say the least. A ray of sunshine once a month would be nice. Oh, and we haven't talked about the cuisine yet. All jokes aside, I'd love to see a country in a new way, working and living there. Really getting to know a culture, and feed my love for learning languages. I think it's so cool that you can get that oppertunity nowadays.
