Letter to the family

My name is Katrina, I’m 26 years old and I am a care giver from Canada that works specifically with those that have Alzheimer’s.

I would like to be an Au Pair & Caregiver for the elderly because I crave for a new experience abroad in a new environment but also have such a passion for my profession as a care giver it would break my heart to give it up. Au Pair & Caregiver for elderly seems like it would be the best of both and in my opinion would be the perfect most ideal experience for myself at this time in my life.

Future candidates should host me because I can guarantee 100% above and beyond effort when it comes down to care. I love the people I care for and I treat them as they are my own family. I dedicate myself to my job. I can guarantee that my standard of care is and will go above and beyond all their expectations. I have 3 years working in a long term care home 2 and a half of those working people with Alzheimer. I am very compassionate and empathetic. I make sure to go out of my way to have a great relationship that is appropriate with not only those I care for but also with their family and loved ones. With what I do gaining trust and respect is very important to me so I will always respect requests and wishes from those I work with while maintaining a high quality standard of care. I believe that keeping one’s independence and dignity is crucial as well. I am experienced in high volume intense situations, with that being said I am able to stay calm in difficult situations and am exceptionally well at problem solving. I have post mortem and palliative experience. I’m conclusion I will dedicate myself to making sure candidates are taken care of and respected to their fullest.

I qualify for this position because I am an experienced care giver. I have been working full time for the past 3 years. I went to school to be a care giver here in Canada, our program is called personal support worker. I graduated on honour roll. I work with people that have Alzheimer’s almost every day. I work with wide range of people all different that range from speech problems to different dietary needs to progression in the disease. Daily I successfully complete care. This consists of dressing them, feeding them, assisting in their personal hygiene, toileting, etc…

Experience

I would like to be an Au Pair & Caregiver for elderly abroad because my two of my passions are travelling and being a care giver. I put so much pride and love into the work that I do on a daily basis. Becoming an Au Pair & Caregiver for elderly abroad would give me the opportunity to experience two things I hold very dearly to me at once. This would be an opportunity I’ve dreamt of since starting my career as a care giver and I am thankful that there is even an opportunity like this. I would be forever great full for the experience if chosen to be apart of your company.
