Letter to the family

Hello! I'm an 18-year-old student from London who will finish school in July and plans to go to university and study Linguistics in September of this year. Although my native language is English, my biggest passion is languages. I have learnt Spanish to an advanced level and German to an intermediate level. I would say my levels of Mandarin and Korean are beginner, but I am keen to advance in learning them (as well as any other languages!).

Unfortunately, I can stay for no longer than 1 month from mid-July to mid-August in my host country. Although, I will hopefully look to become an au pair for longer in the future. Regarding my au pair stay, I will happily complete any housework and work required to care for the children. I would appreciate also some days when I can explore the local area and sight-see nearby places.

Experience

I will greatly value the opportunity this summer to submerse myself in a foreign culture and learn to cook local dishes while helping in the house. I live with my mother and younger sister (2 years younger) and we have a tabby cat called Bobby (12 years old) and a Labradoodle called Kaia (2 years old), so I am very happy to be around and help with pets in the home. All my friends and family describe me as very responsible and sensible and I can adapt well to any tasks required of me.
