Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

My name is , and I am a trilingual Chinese candidate currently seeking the opportunity to become an Au Pair and Live-in Tutor. I speak Chinese, English, and French, and I am excited about the chance to immerse myself in a new culture while contributing meaningfully to your family’s daily life and your children’s learning.

One of the main reasons I wish to become an Au Pair and Live-in Tutor is my strong interest in experiencing different cultures and improving my language skills through real-life, and I enjoy spending time with children.I believe that living with a host family is one of the most enriching and authentic ways to learn—not just linguistically, but also culturally.

I hope you would consider hosting me because I am a warm, patient, and responsible person who usually gets along with children. I naturally connect well with young people and have been told I bring calm and positive energy into their lives.

In terms of qualifications, I bring solid childcare and tutoring experience. Previously, I worked at a summer camp in the French Alps (UCPA), where I took care of over more than children aged 6 to 11 during two months. This experience taught me how to manage groups of kids in dynamic settings while keeping things organized, fun, and safe. Back in China, I also tutored several children in English, mathematics, physics, and chemistry, helping them improve their academic confidence and curiosity.

I would be truly honored to become part of your family, to support your children’s growth, and to share in cultural exchange together.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of meeting you and getting to know your family.

Warm regards,

Experience

Although I have not officially worked as an Au Pair before, I have extensive experience in both childcare and tutoring. I worked at a children’s summer camp in the French Alps (UCPA), where I helped take care of over 100 children aged 6 to 11. My role involved organizing activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the kids, and supporting their emotional needs in a group setting. This experience helped me develop strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to manage children in a lively and international environment. In addition, I have tutored children in China, helping them improve in English, mathematics, physics, and chemistry. I enjoy creating learning environments that are both educational and fun, tailored to each child’s pace and personality.

Why I want to become an Au Pair & Live-in Tutor abroad: I would love to become an Au Pair and Live-in Tutor abroad because I am passionate about cultural exchange and language learning. Living with a host family offers a unique opportunity to truly experience another country’s way of life from the inside, while also sharing my own culture and background. I enjoy spending time with children and supporting their development, whether it’s helping with schoolwork or simply being part of their daily lives.
Being an Au Pair abroad also gives me the chance to practice and improve my foreign language skills, especially in English and French, while building lasting relationships with families from around the world.
