Letter to the family

My name is Eloise.

I am 20 years old, and will be 21 in June. I am completely an honour’s science degree at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I am a dual Canadian & American citizen.

I have 2 younger brothers, one of whom is 9 years younger than me, so I often helped take care of him and often his many friends so I am very experienced dealing with kids of all ages.
I am also a Red Cross certified open water lifeguard. I spent 6 summers working as a counselor in training, open water lifeguard & swim instructor at a summer day camp called Winding Trails. I lifeguarded and taught swim lessons to campers from the age of 3 years old up to 13 years old. My ability to remain calm and handle an emergency situation is evidenced by my making multiple water rescues.
I have also babysat extensively, dealing with kids from newborn age up to pre teens. additionally, I have experience to taking care of children with varying degrees of autism.

I am passionate about traveling and experiencing other cultures. I spent 3 months last summer doing an incredible internship in the Philippines. I had an apartment in Manila which I shared with another intern. We also conducted field research in various other locations throughout the Philippines.

I am a kind, compassionate, caring, responsible, patient and generous person. I love working with children, as evidenced by my 7 years experience at Winding Trails Camp.

I love to swim, read, travel the world, visit museums, explore new places and try new cuisines. I am curious and interested in learning about the world around me.

I hope I get a chance to work with your family.

Experience

With a robust background in childcare and lifeguarding, coupled with certifications in open water and pool lifeguarding as well as first aid, I am well-prepared to embark on a fulfilling journey as an Au Pair. My experience extends across caring for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers, both in structured settings like camps and as a private caregiver. As a camp lifeguard and counselor, I honed my abilities to ensure the safety and well-being of children of diverse ages and backgrounds. Moreover, my proficiency in handling varying degrees of autism equips me with the sensitivity and understanding necessary to provide tailored care to children with special needs. This diverse skill set positions me to not only nurture and support children in their daily activities but also to ensure their safety and happiness while fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.

I love to travel and have experience living in three countries, and I extend to expand this experience further. I believe that being a global citizen is of utmost importance and I want to bring that understanding to the world. I am eager to become an Au Pair abroad because of the enriching opportunities it offers in terms of cultural exchange, travel, and personal growth. Immersing myself in a different culture excites me as I believe it's a gateway to understanding diverse perspectives and lifestyles. Being an Au Pair not only allows me to experience daily life in a new country but also presents the chance to explore its landscapes, traditions, and cuisines. This journey promises to broaden my horizons and deepen my appreciation for global diversity. Moreover, the responsibilities of caring for children in a foreign environment will undoubtedly foster my personal growth, enhancing my resilience, adaptability, and communication skills. Through this experience, I aspire to become more independent, empathetic, and culturally aware, ultimately shaping me into a more well-rounded individual.
