Ellen (19 / Ms. ), English, Student living in United Kingdom looking for Au Pair job in Australia, Canada, France, Netherlands & New Zealand for 1-6 Months

Hi, my name is Ellen. I live with my mum, dad, brother and labrador in York, UK and I am currently studying English Literature, Ancient History and Medieval, Early Modern History for my A levels which I will complete by the end of June 2024. I am looking to become an Au Pair during my gap year prior to University. I currently work as a childminder for several families where I live and love it! I want to become an Au Pair because I would love to experience a different culture and through becoming an Au Pair it allows me to do this whilst also doing something I love and building a relationship with a new family. I have a lot of childcare experience and love spending time with children and building strong and caring relationships. Over the past three years I have built up a network of at least 6 families who regularly come to me for childcare (and a few more who only require babysitting sporadically). Last year I picked up a 12 year old girl from school every Tuesday and assisted her with her homework, food and got her ready for bed whilst her parents were working. I also assist a 13 year old girl with her homework and provide general companionship (for example I plait her hair) on a weekly basis. I also babysit regularly for children from 2y -
13y and look after up to 4 children at a time. This includes spending the day with children or joining them in the evening and doing their evening routine when their parents are busy. Because I love children, when looking after them I am always active and engaged. I learn their preferences and build positive, supportive and caring realtionships with all the kids I look after.
