Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Dear Prospective Au Pair,

Greetings from Christiana, Pennsylvania! We are Caleb and Katya, and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our little bundle of joy in early February 2024. As we prepare to embark on this exciting journey of parenthood, we are excited to extend an invitation to a wonderful individual who will become an integral part of our growing family and our vibrant community.

Our family values are built on the foundation of love, faith, and a strong community. In our search for an au pair, we are looking for someone who not only shares our passion for caring for children but also resonates with our strong Christian beliefs, which hold a central place in our lives. We are a young and energetic couple in our early 20s, and so we are also looking for an equally extroverted individual who is excited to be an addition to our church community and group of friends, where we do things like play frisbee, host dinners, play board games, and have interesting and lively conversations.

As our au pair, your primary role will be to assist us in caring for our newborn. From diaper changes and feeding to playtime and soothing, your presence will be invaluable in ensuring our child's well-being and happiness. We hope that you will not only be a caretaker but also a mentor and friend, actively participating in our child's journey of discovery and learning.

Given our commitment to our faith, we are looking for an au pair who shares our Christian values. Attending our Reformed Episcopal/ Anglican church, praying and reading the bible together, and instilling a sense of spirituality in our child's life are important aspects of our daily routine. We believe that a strong foundation in faith will shape our child's character and help them navigate life's challenges with grace and resilience.

Our home is nestled in the countryside of Lancaster County, and offers a peaceful and picturesque setting that truly embodies small-town living. We can walk to the library and post office, and the tranquil countryside serves as a constant reminder of nature's beauty. Our neighborhood is close-knit, where neighbors know one another and friendly smiles are commonplace. One of the most distinctive aspects of where we live is its connection to the Pennsylvania Dutch Amish community. You'll often see horse-drawn buggies making their way along the scenic roads, and enjoy fresh Amish-farmed produce from farm stands and markets. Though we are technically in the countryside, there is plenty to do around us. In addition to the multitude of restaurants, museums, and fun activities in our area, Philadelphia is just a 1-hour train ride away, and New York City and Washington, DC are just as accessible for a full-day trip.

If you are a compassionate, responsible, and faith-driven individual who is excited to be a part of our family, we would love to hear from you. Thank you for considering becoming a part of our family. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to welcome you into our lives and build a strong and meaningful connection.

Warmly,

Caleb and Katya

Job Description

Our top priority is finding an au pair who shares our strong Christian faith and values, as this forms the core of our family life. While Katya works from home, she will always be present to provide support. However, her job's demands can vary, requiring flexibility from the au pair to assist on short notice.

In addition to being faith-centered, we are looking for an au pair who embodies qualities of compassion, patience, and a deep love for children. Your role will involve caring for our newborn, tending to their needs, and becoming a nurturing presence in their early life. We believe in fostering our child's development through tangible experiences of the world and spending ample time outdoors.

Flexibility is key, given the dynamic nature of Katya's work. The au pair should be comfortable stepping in to assist with childcare when Katya's attention is required elsewhere. Your willingness to be adaptable and responsive will be greatly appreciated and valued. As part of our family, you will not only contribute to our child's growth but also experience the warmth of our home and the close-knit community.
