Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Only girls with German certificate and sufficient knowledge about visa process!
We are Jens (47), Martina (43), Emely (8) and Lilian (5). In 2011 we moved to Hanover, a city in Lower Saxony with more than 500.000 citizens in the middle of Germany. In 2018 we moved into our one family house with garden near Hanover City Park. Next bus station is 3 minutes; next tram station is two bus stops away or a walk of 12 minutes.
Both of us are working fulltime: Jens is working for a German Tourism Company and Martina is working in Controlling for a German Automotive Supplier. Emely & Lilian are very outgoing and communicative children. Both children visit sports classes. Emely started School in August. Lilian is going to Kindergarden.
Both parents speak German and English, both children German only. So it would be helpful to know already a little German from the beginning to be able to talk to the children.
We are looking for an Au pair that enjoys spending time with our children, that is affectionate and patient but is also setting rules and boundaries for the kids, that is responsible and has some experience in childcare.
Your everyday life with us would look like this:
We have breakfast together in the morning. We would ask you to help us preparing breakfast and school breakfast. Thereafter Emely will go to school and Lilian will visit kinder garden. Most of the days we would ask you to do that and pick her up in the afternoon by using. The way to kinder garden will take approximately 5 minutes. Afterwards you are free until end of kinder garden / school.
After kindergarden we would ask you to spend time with both children: play or sing with them, do art crafts, read books to them, go to the playground, the zoo, to the library, to sports, sometimes to meet our children’s friends etc.
Evening meal is usually at 6:30 p.m. We will be at home usually between 6 and 8 p.m. Occasionally one of us will be travelling for work. Westill work sometimes in Home office.
Here and there we will ask you for baby sitting in the evenning.
On the weekend you are usually free to explore Hanover or other cities, meet friends etc. Sometimes we will ask you for Baby sitting on the weekend as well.

You will have your own room including your personal bathroom. We also have a garden and a small gym room that are available to you.

Most of our annual leave we will spend as family which will enable you to have time to travel and get to know destinations you would like to see. We usually plan these timeslots some time ahead so you can adjust your own schedule.

We have a part-time housekeeper who is in the house two times a week so we will not expect you to do cleaning or washing beyond your own things. However, we would ask you to tidy up (with kids) in the evening and to help out in the kitchen with daily routines.

Now…If you can imagine staying with us for preferably 12 months and you are able to start May 1st send us a note. We are looking forward to reading from you!
