Welcome Letter to the Au Pair

Hi there!
My name is Rachelle and I'm seeking someone who will help love and support my mom, Lynne, with her daily living. My mom is just the best! She has always been a very smart, highly capable, and incredibly independent woman. However, in the last few years she was diagnosed with a rare disease called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Sadly, this disease has diminished her cognitive capabilities and physical independence. She lives in a great home in a wonderful neighborhood in San Diego that is close to everything the city has to offer - the beach, downtown, sports events, restaurants, and more!
My father is a healthy, active and engaged spouse, but he needs support caring for her. I and my family live nearby too, but we cannot offer the type of support she needs consistently. But she has many family and friends who are active in her life and who love her and help as much as possible.
We would love someone kind, capable, and trustworthy to join with our family to help my mom live the healthiest, safest, and most enjoyable life she can in her remaining years!

Job Description

In the back of the property, there is an apartment so if you are to live with my mom for some or all of the week, there would be privacy and independence in your accommodations.
While my dad and I can help, we need assistance primarily with keeping my mom safe from falling. This means, that she needs someone to help with mobility and use of her devices (walkers, wheelchairs). My mom will also need someone who can help drive her to the doctor's and other scheduled appointments. She needs assistance with bathing and someone to help her from falling when using the restroom. We would appreciate help with light housekeeping (like doing her laundry and picking up her room) and ensuring that she is dressed and cared for (hair brushed, teeth brushed, etc.)
